Many in church history have said that successful evangelism are the spoils of victory won through the battle in prayer. Billy Graham repeatedly stated the success of his ministry could be attributed to three things – prayer, prayer, and prayer.
We know the god of this age has blinded men’s minds lest they believe the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Only Spirit filled servants of God can embark upon evangelistic efforts that will overcome the tremendous power of satan and his host of wicked spirits. By His grace and power God will snatch men and women from the fire through the great victory won by the Lord Jesus at Calvary – setting them free from sin and death.
While sharing the gospel is done by man, it is truly God’s work. Without the covering of prayers and the help of the Lord, nothing can be accomplished. We greatly covet and appreciate your prayers for before, during and after the excursions!
Before the excursions, prayers are needed for the preparation, for willing hearts to go share the gospel and prayers the preparations. The harvest is plenty but the laborers are few. Teams of 8-12 seems to be more effective. Typically, our teams are ages 18-78, but it would be great to have some younger people. There is a real opportunity for hundreds or even a thousand to go out and reach out in a similar way to the northeast. It’s certainly paganized territory but with real intercession behind it, gospel outreach could make a huge impact turning community after community around.
During the excursions, prayers are needed for the Lord’s will to be done, for hearts to be soft, ears to be open and for the Lord to lead and protect.
And finally, and perhaps most importantly, for after the excursions, prayers are needed for the work of the Holy Spirit on all those who received a tract. That the Lord would reap a great harvest and that those who are saved would not be as those who have no root but that the seed would take root in good soil. (Mark 4:3-9, 1 Cor 3:6-7 “I planted the seed…but it was the Lord who made it grow…”)
